International Summer Course for Sorbian Language and Culture in July in Bautzen (Germany, Eastern Saxony)

Course content:

  • language lessons in Upper Sorbian for beginners and advanced learners (participants are divided into groups depending on their previous knowledge), approx. 50 teaching units of 45 minutes each (those interested in Lower Sorbian/Wendish can find up-to-date information on upcoming courses on the homepage of the School for Lower Sorbian Language and Culture)
  • lectures on the Sorbian language, literature, history, and culture
  • conversations with Sorbian creative artists
  • visits to cultural institutions and excursions through Lusatia

Costs and Accommodation:

Accommodation: Course participants will be accommodated in the Sorbian boarding school of the WITAJ language centre at Friedrich-List-Straße 8a in Bautzen/Budyšin, mainly in twin rooms. Lessons take place in the rooms of the Sorbian Secondary School in the immediate vicinity.

Cost: The regular course fee is € 650.00, for students € 500.00. For participants from Slavic or Eastern European countries there is a reduced participation fee of € 350.00 or € 250.00 (for students). The course fee covers tuition, accommodation, catering, and excursions.
