2nd/3rd May, Bautzen: 5th Network Meeting for Sorbian Studies Early-Career Researchers
date: 02.05.2025 - 03.05.2025
Event location: Serbski institut / Sorbisches Institut, Bahnhofstraße 6, 02625 Bautzen/Budyšin
The Sorbian Institute is hosting the fifth meeting for early-career researchers in the field of Sorbian studies. The meeting will focus on interdisciplinary exchange and networking among young scholars who are currently engaged in or planning studies that are regionally or thematically related to the Sorbs/Wends.
This two-day event provides participants with a forum to present and discuss their own research projects. Contributions from fields such as linguistics, cultural studies or history are just as welcome as transdisciplinary projects in comparative minority studies or digital humanities. Artistic or musical contributions are explicitly encouraged as well. For the presentation of the respective research projects (e.g. papers, bachelor‘s, master‘s, or doctoral theses) various formats can be chosen. Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the conditions and prospects of interdisciplinary collaboration.
The meeting will be held in German, Upper and Lower Sorbian, and English.
Registration:
Registration is open until February 14, 2025, via the link provided here. To help plan the event, you will be asked to provide some information about yourself, your research project, and your preferred presentation format.
Detailed coordination regarding the content and moderation of the individual panels will take place after the registration deadline and will be carried out by staff members of the Sorbian Institute and interested participants.
